As long as they were getting their homework done and getting up for school they could choose. Both had extracurricular activites that often had them getting home after 9pm. Then the older one got to stay up a bit later but never past 10pm until they graduated. He was sleeping through the night at 5 weeks old, so sleeping has never been an issue in our house. If he stays up late he gets up super early. That is why we try to stick to the schedule. Now that our oldest is going into 3rd grade hubby and I decided that he could stay up till about 8:15-8:30.
