Aloha Friday - First Job

Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday, hosted by Kailani over at An Island Life. In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day to take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So, on Fridays we can take it easy on blog posting, too.

I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer - nothing that requires a lengthy response. If you’d like to participate, visit An Island Life where you can link up with your own question and also visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!

What was your first job?

Technically, my very first job was as a babysitter. I babysat all through high school and used my earnings to buy school clothes. As soon as I graduated high school, I got a job in our local hospital. I worked as a file clerk in the medical records office and later as a student nurse tech in the emergency department. That's where I worked until I graduated nursing school and became an RN.

Aside from watering plants, shoveling snow, babysitting, and working at my father's baseball card store - it was working as a pharmacy technician when I was in college.

My first job was working in a Dry Cleaners. I hated it! The owners were mean people.

My first job was as a babysitter when I was 12... :) Then I was a cashier at a store (similar to RiteAid) when I was a senior in high school (but my parents made me quit that job because they kept scheduling me for so many hours and my school work was suffering). :)

I was a movie telephone interviewer. You know the people that call your home, and ask for you opinion on movies.

I worked at a supermarket, A&P for $3.35 an hour. I took a 45 minute bus ride to get there.

I guess babysitting was my first job too. But my first "real" job was working as an assistant to a photographer in high school. It was more about matching up negatives and preparing orders and making appointments but I thought it was glamorous.
