Random Things My Kids Have Said Lately

"When I was in kindergarten, I had to get married"
-when my youngest son was in kindergarten, they held a mock wedding of sorts called "The Q and U Wedding". It was meant to demonstrate how the letters Q and U go together to form words. My son was chosen as the "Q" or the groom. It was a lot of fun, something the teacher does every year. They actually wore dresses and suits, had flowers and an aisle to walk down and an officiant who presided over the ceremony. After the ceremony, the wedding party paraded through the hallways with the bride and groom in a wagon (the wagon was dragging tin cans and said "just married").

"I have lots of options. There are plenty of fish in the sea"
-this was what my almost-18-year-old son said to me as we were recently discussing his dating situation. Ahh, he's so wise'o)

"X-name Mall has the best terrain for stalking cute boys. Y-name Mall is just too big and you end up losing them"
-my 14-year-old daughter said this. We were discussing two of our local shopping malls and which we liked the best. Can you tell she is a boy-crazy teenager?

I guess this Q and U wedding thing is standard kindergarten fare...my sons class did that last year. And at 18, I hope he is looking at a lot of different fish and isn't stuck on one! And gosh I remember the mall days!
