Aloha Friday - A Person You Admire

Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday, hosted by Kailani over at An Island Life. In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day to take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So, on Fridays we can take it easy on blog posting, too.

I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer - nothing that requires a lengthy response. If you’d like to participate, visit An Island Life where you can link up with your own question and also visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!

One person that I look up to and admire is ____________ because ________

(My answer would be Laura Ingraham, the conservative commentator and talk show host, because she is incredibly smart, informed, strong, and funny. I think she's a great conservative, Christian role model for women in our country.)

Hello Kari,
Hm-mm, Let me think. One person that I look up to and admire is my Aunt Roxanne because is she always loving, kind and amazingly creative. Ever since I could remember she is always making something new; candle making, quilting, scrapbooking, and on and on. Have a nice weekend and I hope that you are feeling better.
Smiles, Paula

My mom. She has been through so much, was orphaned with her 9 year old brother when she was 16, he was 9. Married and had her first child at 19, struggled under the poverty line while raising the three of us, then lost her only and best friend when they were both 30, then my mom lost her youngest, my little brother when he was 32. Over the years, she stuck it out with my dad, managed to get educated, found a good job, the money started to come in, they bought a home and she is now retired. Oh I forgot to mention she also lost her big brother who she adored when he was about 55. This is a woman who is so funny and so much fun to be around in spite of how difficult her life has been. There is no one I admire as much as I admire her.

Thanks for stopping by. I look up to my Aunt Mitzi she's in her late 80's and refuses to throw in the towel as she says. She was a great wife and mother, and has the comment sense to live every day for what it's worth. I love her immensely, and proud she's my aunt! Sure there's many I admire who are already gone, but today is for the living.

I look up to most anyone who stood up for what is right despite the repercussions.

Have a great day!

I admire my Mom, too, because she's always been my biggest supporter. I hope I can be that way with my girls.
