Where's the eggs?

One of my favorite things about this time of year is that my all-time favorite candy is available -- the Reese's peanut butter egg. Now, I love Reese's candy in general. But, something about the "egg" is just irresistable to me. Maybe it's the shape? The "egg" seems to contain more yummy peanut butter than the original "cup". When I was a little girl, my sister (who is twelve years older than me) had a job at a nearby mom and pop grocery store. She would always come home from work with a little brown paper sack for me. In the sack, there was candy. Usually a Reese's peanut butter cup. Once in awhile, she would even bring me a whole box, full of Reese's peanut butter cups. Everyone knew that I loved them. That was "my thing". So, this year, when the stores began putting out the Easter candy, I was anxious to have my first egg of the season. But, lo and behold...I cannot find them. I've looked at WalMart, Kroger, Walgreens - with no luck. I found the little bitty miniature Reese's cups, and even the bags of mini-sized eggs. But, I want the big eggs that come six to a pack. What's up? Is there a shortage of chocolate or peanut butter that I didn't know about? Was there a problem at the Reese's factory with the assembly line for the "big eggs"? I must find some eggs! And, speaking of Reese's eggs...have you seen the commercial for them? A chocolate bunny and a jar of peanut butter facing one another, while the song 'Let's Get It On' plays. I thought that was just hilarious. Okay. I'll stop whining about my eggs now. But, don't think I'm not still out hunting for them. What about you? What's your favorite Easter candy?

Thanks for visiting my blog! Nice to meet you.

My favorite Easter candy is the hollow white chocolate easter bunny. You can't find those many places, either.

Those are my ALL TIME FAVORITE thing to eat. Seriously. I would die without them every Easter. Course now they make them at Christmas and valentines and Halloween, so I can get the deadly goodness all year long. I think the secret is the ratio of chocolate to pb. The pb is MUCH thicker in these babies than the regular reeses cups.

You MUST find some. Order online if you have to. You cannot go without. It's a sin.

Thanks for the nice comment, it was very sweet. Ok, now to bigger and better things..CANDY. I ALWAYS have reeses in my house..well mostly on my thighs, but I love them. But my favorite candy at Easter is Cadbury Eggs..the original. It's kind of gross though, looks like it has a yoke in it. And to tell the truth, I hate egg yolks..oh well..it's my fav.

I love Reese's peanut butter cups, but I'm not as fond of the eggs. Not sure why. Good luck on your hunt.

Anything that has chocolate and peanut butter is good to me :) They have them at our kroger, how weird that yours doesn't. You should try again. How about CVS drug store?

My favorite Easter candy are the chocolate eggs from a store called See's Candy. They don't have the stores in Ohio, but they have a website you can order from : sees.com

All their candy is the best I've ever had, but I could be partial since that's what I grew up with ;)

Good luck with the "egg" hunt and Happy Easter!

Rue :)
