My daughter will be so furious if she finds out I posted this, but...I'm posting it anyway;o) She has been taking piano lessons since kindergarten and last year was the first time she started to complain about it and ask to quit. Every week it became a battle to get her to practice and so I finally gave in and let her quit at the end of the year. It was against my better judgement, but, I hated to think that I was the only reason she was continuing the lessons. Normally, they did a recital every year at Christmas. But, the teacher and her husband had both had some health issues this past year and weren't up to it. Instead, they did a "mini-recital" during one of their last lessons of the year. Here is Shelby's performance -

What a pretty young lady! My mom let me quit piano too after many years of lessons. Sometimes I regret it, but I sure didn't then. She might pick it up again later.
wow Kari, that was great. I quit after many years of piano too and regretted it later. I am 47 and started playing again, but am not nearly as good as I used to be or as good as your daughter for that matter. She looks so sweet.
Great job! That is one of the songs I played when I was a kid. I regret quitting TERRIBLY! I'm not sure you can tell kids that though...
She did a wonderful job!
I have played the piano since kindergarten and when I was in middle school I really wanted to quit. My mother said that if I didn't quit she would take me out to my favorite restaurant once a week for a year. So I didn't quit and she kept her promise. I think I was 25 before I realized how special that was and I finally paid her back by taking her out every week for a year. I am 28 and still play the piano at least twice a week.
