I'm reading a book. I come to a particularly exciting/scary/tense moment. I'm reading along with the words, but I'm so anxious to find out what happens that my eyes automatically jump to the end of the paragraph, prematurely revealing the outcome. Bummer! I didn't mean to skip ahead but I just couldn't stop myself. Now, I have to go back and re-read the entire paragraph.
Am I the only one who does this?

I don't skip to the end of a paragraph of action, but my eyes do that on occasion with dialogue. So sometimes I have to cover it up and reveal it line-by-line.
No, you most certainly are not! I skim like mad and then re-read slowly once I know everything will be alright.
