Welcome to "Movie Trailer Tuesday - my weekly blog feature where I share movie/dvd recommendations by posting a quick blurb and movie trailer for you to check out.
Have you watched any good movies recently? Feel free to share in the comments below.
Set in the 1890's during the height of the Klondike Gold Rush, this story follows two best friends who set out for the Yukon with dreams of striking it rich. What they find, is a wild and dangerous world full of prospectors and outlaws hoping for the same thing.
This was a miniseries by Discovery that aired on television earlier this year. I happened to catch it in a marathon rerun one weekend and was immediately hooked. It claims to be based on actual events. For any literary fans, there's a very interesting tie-in with author Jack London, whose The Call of The Wild and White Fang works were both set in the Klondike Gold Rush.
Discovery.com has some great behind-the-scenes footage and historical information for Klondike. Visit their website to check it out.
Klondike is not yet available on Netflix. You can find it via iTunes, Google Play, Amazon Instant Video, Sony Entertainment Network, vudu, and XBox Video.

I feel like I have not made time to watch an movie in ages. I should really make some time to watch with Hubby this weekend.
This looks like a great movie for date night at home. Putting it on the list. :)
I think the era of the gold rush is quite fascinating. I would love to see something that follows a true story like this one.
This looks like a fascinating movie! I love when they make history fun like this.
I would love to see this movie. We enjoy watching any educational films as a family and I loved learning about the gold rush in school.
